This California Rancher Sustainability Assessment Project was inspired by the success of the Central Coast Vineyard Team’s “Positive Points System” that has been used by California grape growers since 1998. The initial version of the CRSA (hardcopy) was funded in 2008 by a grant from the Wildlife Conservation Board and led by ranchers, especially George Work, Steve Sinton, Chuck Pritchard and Kevin Kester. Many ranchers and other individuals provided feedback during approximately 50 UCCE Landowner Workshops and Tailgate Meetings.

Funds for the on-line version of the CRSA were provided by Renewable Resources Extension Act (RREA Project #20-6284, Oct. 2020 to August 2021). We thank the UC ANR IGIS Program, Maggi Kelly, Director, Shane Feirer, Lead, with colleague Robert Johnson, and Judi Young, YoungDigital, for performing the technical and design aspects of the project.

All contributions have been most welcome and are much appreciated.
